Here is one example of the skin disease “Harlequin’s Disorder” or “Harlequin Ichthyosis”, which is a  full body skin disease.  This disease results in a thickening of fetal skin, which severe cases result in scales and appendages and body parts are deformed by it. Because the skin is open to the air, the child is under severe risk of disease and infection, and the disease is fatal if not treated with the utmost care.  Also, below are some more example of other skin disorders that can affect the skin, such as elephantitis which is a genetic disorder, and Goiters which is caused by a malfunctioning of the thyroid gland.
